Chai-Yo, nestled in the heart of Montreal, is making waves as a standout vegan Thai restaurant. From the moment you step in, you are greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that perfectly complements the delectable menu. Diners rave about the authentic flavors that give each dish a unique character. Tracy delightfully noted the robust flavor profile of the Guay-Teow Ped, but advised caution for those sensitive to spice, particularly with the fiery Nom Jeen Nam Ya. Others, like Xavier, appreciated the entirely vegan menu, showcasing a thoughtful selection that breaks away from the typical offerings found in many restaurants. The freshness of the ingredients shines through, even when dining in or taking out, as noted by customers who were pleasantly surprised by the quality, even after a commute. Highlights include the Pad Yang Panang, boasting a rich and satisfying flavor that left diners longing for more. The staff is known for their attentive service and helpful recommendations, enhancing the overall dining experience. Chai-Yo is not just a place to eat; it’s an experience where passion for Thai cuisine is delivered in every dish. With consistent 10/10 reviews, it’s a must-visit for anyone craving authentic vegan Thai food in Montreal.

Came here for the first time based on a friend's recommendation, and I must say, this place did not disappoint! The service was genuinely welcoming, the ambiance created a cozy casual experience, and the food was nothing short of delightful! Having been a fan of their sister restaurant Chu-Chai, my excitement to explore Chai-Yo was met with absolute satisfaction. The flavors were amazing that leaves me eager to return and try more of their menu! Without a doubt, a solid 10/10 – worth revisiting!!! My favorite dish had to be the Guay-Teow Ped!! The broth is so flavorful! Beware of the Nom Jeen Nam Ya dish because if you’re not into spicy, it can be quite spicy! Personally, I could handle the spice no problem but my friends struggled with this dish a bit. We ordered a lot of other dishes and every single one of them was so tasty!! I honestly have nothing bad to say other than i wish I had more space in my stomach to handle more food! :D great food and great place!!

Really good vegan thai restaurant! I went there to get food for a pick up. The menu is entirely vegan which makes for a big change compared to most Montreal restaurants. The music in there is good, the ambiance is cool as well. It’s a brand new restaurant but it was surprisingly empty for the quality. I sat alone in there waiting for my order. The waitress was really kind in helping me navigate the menu and telling me her favourites, best sellers etc. I’d be willing to go eat there instead of getting a take out next time. I took the red curry and it was surprisingly spicy. I’m used to spicy food but this was something. Even 25 minutes of commute after getting my food it was still really good. Everything tasted super fresh and had deep flavours. I’ll have to go back to take some pictures of the food because I jumped right in as soon as i opened the plates. So I don’t have any pictures of the food..

It's nice to see thai restaurants that offer authentic food. We started the meal with fried imperial rolls and peanut butter dumplings which were both so delicious. We shared two mains; Ped yang Panang (vegan duck seitan Curry) and Kao Man Gou (steamed tofu with spicy sauce and ginger rice). Both were good but I love my curries so the sietan curry had me. We also got a Kao man gai soup which was a little bland but other than that great food experience.

The food is incredibly fresh and delicious—some of the best vegan cuisine I’ve had in Montreal. The space is cozy and inviting, and the staff gave excellent recommendations. I’ll definitely be coming back to try the duck soup next time. A must-visit spot.

What a lovely, family run restaurant! I’m a BIG Chuchai fan so I was happy to try Chai-yo. The food was great - spicier than ChuChai for adventurous palates. We went for a quick dinner and had the Ped Yang Panang (vegan duck) which was sooo good! Also had the green papaya salad and it was spicy and flavorful! The dumplings with peanut sauce are similar to Chuchai’s but have their own spin with a chili oil drizzle. Couldn’t get enough of the Thai iced coffee!

I was so very impressed with the all flavours and textures. Everything was so very delicious . The lady chef is a super talented Thai cook, it felt like I was back in Bali again :) I’m excited to return very soon ( I’m vegan 15yrs) Let’s keep this Montreal treasure open x

The food was amazing! We had a noodle soup with vegan crispy duck, a banh mi and the dumplings with peanut sauce. The soup was huge and so tasty! The sandwich with the vegan pate and ham was also soooo delicious! The staff was so friendly and attentive; very nice place!
